Meet Our Founder: The Story Behind wearequora

At wearequora, we're more than just a health and beauty shop - we're a community of passionate individuals dedicated to empowering people to live their best lives. And at the heart of it all is our founder, Diana, whose vision and drive have shaped the very essence of our brand.

Diana was born and raised in Colombia and moved to the US when she was 20 and lived in New York City ever since.

"Growing up in Colombia Mom and Grandma taught me how to resort to nature as medicine. From treating fever, colds, rashes, allergies the list goes on. I was no stranger to natural remedies. Ever since I was little I wanted to understand everything about hair. Its cycles, its different types of texture, how it grows. I bought my first book about hair when I was 10 and never stopped learning. Living in the US changed my perspective of the world and expanded my knowledge and curiosity"

It all started back in 2020 when Diana found herself frustrated with the lack of accessible, affordable, and high-quality health and beauty products on the market. She had always been passionate about living a healthy, sustainable lifestyle, but the options available just didn't seem to measure up.

Experiencing consumerism in a country where overproduction is the rule opened my eyes to different alternatives. I learned about sustainability at design school where I focused on learning how a product can be as aesthetically pleasing as it is efficient and revolutionary.

"I remember scouring the shelves, trying to find products that were truly good for me and the environment, "Diana recalls. "But it felt like I was always compromising on something - either the quality, the price, or the ethics behind the brand. I knew there had to be a better way.

Quora was born out of my personal frustration with finding skin and hair care products that were honest, clean and actually worked! free of harmful chemicals for our health and the environment.  The huge footprint left by plastic led me to rethink my way of consuming and consider solutions around it. Creating a shampoo bar was challenging, but even more challenging was creating a high quality bar that embodied all of the core values I grew up with. There are a lot of shampoo bar options out there but finding one that actually works is a different story. I am a faithful believer that our actions are as powerful as they are necessary to generate change, each individual action, no matter how small, has the potential to revolutionize, just be patient and  consistent.                                                                                                                                                                       Today, wearequora is a thriving business that offers a carefully curated selection of high-quality, sustainable health and beauty products. But it's not just about the products themselves - it's about the community we've built, the stories we've shared, and the lives we've touched.

"When I see the impact our products and our message have had on our customers, it's the most rewarding feeling," Diana says, her eyes shining with pride. "To know that we're making a real difference in people's lives, that's what keeps me going."

And as wearequora continues to grow and evolve, Diana remains steadfast in her commitment to staying true to the brand's core values. She's constantly seeking new ways to innovate, to push the boundaries, and to inspire others to join the movement.
